Job Description

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Director of Operations (DOO) is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the company’s project fulfillment and operations personnel. This can include planning and maintaining work systems, procedures, and policies, as well as helping to ensure the company meets high-level targets related to Operations. The DOO looks for and looks into any problems, errors, inefficiencies, or non-compliance with standard procedures and policies. The Director provides general guidance and support to middle management in the operations department, who are generally responsible for making sure all customer accounts are running smoothly and are in compliance. The Director also assists with client issues or project matters that have been escalated up from this middle management.

The DOO should also help us with department innovation over time. This can be predicting and preparing for future needs of the department, whether staffing, technology, or other needs. They should also at times look for new methodologies to improve productivity, to enhance quality, or to increase efficiencies or profit margins.

The DOO is an active member of the Senior Management team, and works closely with the President, Managing Director, and the other Directors on company strategic initiatives and day-to-day processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

  • 4+ years project management and/or operations experience in the language services industry
  • professional experience managing personnel
  • bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • US citizenship with the ability to pass a government background investigation
