Responsibilities:
As required,
Assist with industry research to inform research content as directed
Help maintain Slator’s database of industry professionals, e.g., applying metadata to records as directed
Perform ad-hoc tasks as instructed by the Head of Advisory or Head of Research, e.g. for Slator’s other activities such as the press release service and jobs page
Proof-read / review editorial content prior to publication
Use software and tools to help with the preparation of content for publication, e.g., for graphs, charts and images
Assist with industry research to inform editorial content in line with the editorial calendar, e.g., seek out relevant information on individuals, companies, tenders, and regulations
Attend calls and meetings with Slator representative
Skills / Interests:
Highly analytical
Actively interested in the business side of language industry, i.e., beyond “just translation / interpreting”
Excellent written and verbal skills in English (to native or fully bilingual level)
Able to multitask and adjust activities in line with changing priorities
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Educated to MA level (or pursuing an MA) in a language-, translation- or interpreting-related field.
Duration: 4-6 months
