Supertext in a nutshell
Supertext is an ISO-certified online translation and copywriting agency that has grown from a Swiss startup to a full-blown LSP with branches in Berlin, Zurich and L.A. We’ve been putting in a good word for our clients since 2005 with copywriting, translation, localization, editing and proofreading services in more than 100 languages.
The role in a nutshell
English is the international language. And it’s one of Supertext’s fasting growing areas, with demand increasing thanks to our newest office in L.A. As an English Language Specialist, you’ll be responsible for the quality of our English translation, copywriting and revision orders. In addition to tackling these jobs yourself, you’ll collaborate with freelance translators and copywriters, developing relationships with them along the way. You’ll check their work when they send it back, taking as much pride in this as if you did the translation yourself. Your communication skills, attention to detail and supreme time management will keep our clients super happy.
You in a nutshell
You are fluent in German (French is also a plus) and have a flair for writing in English – your mother tongue. You’re a language nut, which is why you studied translation. You also have a strong interest in copywriting and are excited by the idea of coming up with snappy headlines and engaging advertising content. You are super organized and a total perfectionist – you hate it when you see a mistake on a website, a menu or even a Facebook post! At the same time, you’re a people person and love working as part of a team.
You are tech savvy and excited by the role technology has to play in the evolving translation industry. You’re familiar with CAT tools and the latest machine translation platforms, and understand their strengths and limitations.
Your ideal work day involves both collaborating with colleagues around the world and tackling new challenges independently. One minute, you’re on the phone with a freelancer explaining an exciting new job, the next, you’re transcreating a cool new slogan for a fashion company, then you’re proofreading a website for an internet startup. You like being able to organize your activities the way you see fit and are proactive about bringing your own ideas to the table.
