The role of the Localization Team Manager is to manage, train, and work with the translation/localization team on all assigned projects in the most efficient manner possible to ensure client retention, satisfaction and ultimately repeat revenue growth. The ideal candidate must proactively use effective written and verbal communication to ensure that project teams understand the scope, complexity, and expectations, and that the clients are kept fully informed as to the progress, position, and financial status of their projects. Additionally, the Localization Manager needs to manage and motivate the extended project team, ensuring actions are clearly delegated and that resource/quality issues are escalated in a timely fashion to the Account Manager and Executive team.

Responsibilities

  1. Localization Team management and oversight.

  2. Ownership of all copy communications globally, serving as main point of contact internally

    and externally for all translation-related needs.

  3. Work within ISO requirements.

  4. Management and delivery of day-to-day projects to client's expectations achieving targeted

    levels of profitability.

  5. Analysis of files using translation memory tools.

  6. Compiling estimates and proposals for approval.

  7. Adhering to the CommGap sales process and project processes.

  8. Close financial monitoring and control of projects through budgets, invoicing, and change

    orders to ensure timely and final invoicing.

  9. Strategic project planning involving best methodologies, processes, and risk assessments.

  10. Accurate documentation and filing of all project related materials.

  11. Identification and development of project/process improvement opportunities.

  12. Hosting regular, documented verbal and written communications with clients and internal

    team members.

  13. Monitoring and mentoring of all Team Project Managers.

  14. Works on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-

    depth evaluation of multiple factors and works complex problems through to resolution.

Experience and Skills

  1. Degree in either Localization, project management, a business-related area or equivalent work experience

  2. Typically requires

  3. 5+ years of localization project management experience

  4. Experience growing accounts

  5. Good written/verbal communication and presentation skills

  6. Customer service experience

  7. Proactive, ambitious, and with a desire to learn and progress

  8. Analytical and organized problem-solving abilities

  9. Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure

  10. Expertise through study or work in translation tools and methods for translating, localizing,

    and QA of copy such as Translation Management Systems and content management

    systems.

  11. Knowledge of how to use collaboration and organizational tools such as MS Office, Hubspot

    (or other CRM/sales tool).

  12. Experience and knowledge of Machine Translation.
